Video///XYX “Teatro Negro Album Teaser” + New Song

By / July 3, 2012

It was 3 years ago when i first XYX at Emo’s. It was one of those out of blue shows that come so very often. All i really knew was it was a band from Monterrey and it was at Emo’s(Enough Said). I later realized that one half of the duo was Mouu from one of my favorite bands  Bam Bam. The small crowd on that summer night was treated to an epic and pulsating barrage of Noise-Punk, Space-Punk, No wave and whatever label you want to tag along..

Since their  release(a very limited one) Momento ácido contemporáneo and playing at Chaos in Tejas(Which no other Indie-Mexican rock band has done )the duo had parted ways in some sense. With one half Anhelo moving to Austin and Mouu continuing to produce and create the most intriguing and worth-while Rock music in Mexico. The Duo had unfortunately seemed to look be one of the Side Projects that never really took flight..

But after three years of evolution on part of both individuals the final product of something that seemed lost is back. XYX will be soon releasing an LP under Monofono Press(Austin Texas). Mouu describes the album as “self doubt, hysteria, and the general crazyness of the life of two very different individuals”.  Whatever it is, it’s needless to say this was something well worth saving and the most exciting return of Mexican indie scene this year.
